What we do.

Four services. One company. Everything on the jobsite that moves steel — from the first pick to the last load off the truck — under one accountable sub.

Structural steel erection on an industrial jobsite
01 · Core Service

Structural Steel Erection

Our core business since 1956. We erect steel for industrial facilities, warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and commercial buildings across Mississippi and the South.

Our crews handle projects from 10,000 square feet to multi-building industrial campuses. Small tight-site pick-and-set or full-frame erection with concurrent deck and detail — we scale the crew and the cranes to match what the schedule actually needs.

Every foreman on our crews came up through Bracken. They learned our rigging, our sequencing, and our safety standards on the jobsite, not from a manual. That's why the steel goes up right the first time.

02 · Owned Fleet

Crane Services & Rental

We've owned cranes since 1966. Our first hydraulic — a 25-ton Warner & Swaysey — was added in 1969. The fleet has only grown since.

Today we operate more than twenty owned cranes, ranging from rough-terrain pickers to heavy hydraulic and crawler machines. Every crane on a Bracken jobsite is ours, maintained on our schedule, operated by NCCCO-certified operators who work directly for us.

We also rent bare machines and operated-and-maintained packages to GCs and other subs across the region. If you need a lift plan drafted before you bid the work, we'll draft it.

03 · Transport

Heavy Haul

Oversized, overweight, or just awkward — Bracken Heavy Haul moves the loads that most carriers pass on.

Our trucks and trailers are built for structural steel components, pre-engineered building sections, process equipment, tanks, and anything else that won't fit on a standard flatbed. We pull the permits, coordinate the escorts, and plan the route before the wheels turn.

We run across Mississippi and into Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Arkansas regularly. Long runs on request.

  • Oversized & overweight permitted loads
  • Multi-axle & specialty trailers
  • Route surveys & permit management
  • Escort coordination
  • Jobsite-to-jobsite equipment moves
  • Regional & long-haul service

04 · Before the Bid

Preconstruction

Call us before the project goes to bid. We'll review the drawings, flag the pick points, and tell you what the erection actually takes.

Most steel subs quote what's on the plan. We quote what we can deliver. That means walking the site if it helps, talking to the detailer, checking the crane access, and giving the GC a number they can build a schedule around. No surprise RFIs mid-project. No change orders for conditions we should have caught up front.

Preconstruction support is free on most projects we bid. It's how we make sure the estimate matches the job.

  • Constructability review
  • Lift planning & crane selection
  • Schedule & sequencing input
  • Budget estimating & value engineering
  • Site walks & logistics planning
  • Coordination with detailer & fabricator

Send us the drawings.

We'll walk the site if it helps. We'll get you a bid that tells you what the project actually takes — not what you want to hear.
